The 824 EDI document type The 824 document type is an electronic version of a paper Application Advice. Standard EDI formats include X12, ANSI, EDIFACT and its subsets. The 824 EDI document type is used to report the results of an application system's data content edits of transaction sets, which can then be reported at the functional group and transaction set levels, either in coded or free-form format.
