Ghosts, goblins and witches OH MY!
That’s right! Next week is Halloween! Time to have some fun, don’t you think? Below we’ve listed a couple of easy initiatives you can use on your eCommerce store and social media channels to have some fun with your customers.
We know this has absolutely nothing to do with your customers, but it’s so easy to get them involved. Have a costume or pumpkin carving contest and ask your customers to vote on the winner through social media. This not only increases engagement, but it gives them a chance to get to know the people behind the screen.
Give your customers the chance to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar for the month of October. The difference can be donated to a charity of choice is (UNICEF
a big one this time of year). Again, this gives you a chance to give back and certainly doesn’t hurt your image.
Video is an expensive and tricky form of marketing if you don’t have proper equipment and resources to make them great. Having said that, viewers nowadays appreciate a candid video of real people in real settings. Do something simple like a comparison of Halloween candy, or a costume fashion show in the office. Anything to have a little more fun with the season. If you do, in fact, have the means to produce a quality video, a Halloween themed commercial would be a good idea. Has some fun with the season and get your name out there.
Look for Halloween connections in the products you sell and bundle them together. For example, a cosmetic company may pair their red lipstick and black eye liner as their “vampire look”. It ties into Halloween and gives the company a reason to promote a deal.
Take to Social Media
This one’s simple, jump on a few trending Halloween hashtags and make yourself known. Get your name up there on searches and make it relevant. Social media gives you the opportunity to tie in all of the above methods and more. This is where you post images of your team costumes, carved pumpkins, and videos to get engagement.
There you have it everyone, a few quick initiatives that will make your Halloween even sweeter!
Happy trick or treating :-)
