Start Early!
Seriously, if you’re only thinking about this now, you’re probably a bit late. Having said that, there are still a number of things you can implement quickly that may help you overcome the madness that comes with these two days.
Get your site ready!
Increase your bandwidth, run some tests, and make sure your site can handle the extra traffic it will endure during this time. Remember that increased visitors are only good as long as they stay there and make a purchase. If you’re site is too slow, they can and will leave! There are some great tools you can look at to help you out with this.
In addition to this, have a back-up plan for in your site goes down, make sure you’re ready because it can happen!
Your marketing needs to be on point
All marketing needs to be scheduled out. Your content, ads, social media and promotions should all be carefully planned out ahead of time. Carefully create content that supports your promotions. For example, if you’re a clothing store and you’re promoting sweaters, write a blog post on how to wear and style these items. Push this information through social media and build up the hype. Furthermore, have banner ads and hero images created for these items. Again, this should all have one cohesive schedule and even automation set up. That way when the time comes, there are no issues.
Be customer service ready
Depending on how large your business is, you may just need one person or a whole team of customer service professionals. Either way, be prepared. Have your live chat, phones and contact email account manned and ready. Monitor your social accounts carefully and respond quickly. Word of mouth is a powerful form of marketing; make sure what they’re saying about you is positive but putting out the fires before they take over.
