eCommerce Trending categories: What verticals are experiencing growth?

In preparing to write this article I went back through my online shopping history… for your entertainment really.

From March 12th to today, I purchased:
  • 4 plane tickets home, which cut our March Break vacation short.
  • Latex gloves.
  • Masks.
  • Medicine.
  • 2 tablets for my kids, and strong cases.
  • Online educational software subscription.
  • Lined paper.
  • Markers.
  • Frozen croissants.
  • Meal kits.
  • Fresh bacon.
  • Online subscription boxes for kids.
  • Pick-up pizza.
  • Box of wine.
I find this list, in it’s true order, hilarious. Ladies and gentleman, the stages of self-isolation acceptance. From rash purchases like plane tickets and products in case of illness, to setting up the kids and my husband and I to work from home, finally to satisfying our cravings for pizza, baked goods and wine.

My family isn’t the only one flowing through these stages. eCommerce trends suggest that WAY more is being ordered online. Our VP, Operations at eBridge told eBridge Marketing that the volumes of transactions we’re seeing in our eBridge Cloud integration platform are such that we’d see during Black Friday Cyber Monday.

So, what is in everyone's carts?

You may be pressed against the window waiting for these items to be delivered

Consumers are ordering in interesting patterns. As each of us adjusts to the new normal for now, we are ordering online in interesting patterns. What is your vice during social distancing? What have you ordered? See how your buying compares to the trends we see across online categories.
